FAITH & WISDOM CHURCH is a New Testament, Charismatic, Spirit Filled, Non-Denominational Body of Believers. We exist to celebrate God’s presence through worship, to communicate God’s Word through evangelism, to educate God’s people through discipleship and to demonstrate God’s love through ministry.
OUR VISION… Is to Love God and to Love Others. We commit to speak the truth in love, reach out to win the lost to Christ, baptizing them and making them disciples. We praise and worship God together as the Body of Christ and individually as children of God. In following Christ, we are to always be Loving People And Building Lives.
GOD: God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Genesis 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19)
JESUS CHRIST: Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He is fully God and equal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice to atone for the sins of all people by shedding His own blood and dying on the cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He descended and set captives free, ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5, 14; John 14:10-31; Romans 1:4; Ephesians 4:9-10; Philippians 2:5-6)
THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides for the Christian… power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under the control of the Holy Spirit daily. (II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; Ephesians 5:18; John 14:17)
THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT: Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Jesus Christ, sent by the Father, to empower the Church to be a witness to the Gospel throughout the whole earth. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is signified by speaking in other tongues, and brings with it various other gifts. (Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6; 1 Corinthians 12, 13, 14)
THE BIBLE: The Bible is God’s Holy Word. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It is the whole truth without error. The Bible was not written only to educate us, but to change our lives. (Psalm 119:19; II Timothy 3:16)
HUMANITY: People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. All of us are marred by a sinful nature and an attitude of disobedience toward God. This attitude, called sin, separates people from God and causes many problems during this earthly life. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2)
THE CHURCH: The Church is the Bride of Christ and the Body of Christ on earth. The church represents Jesus Christ, works with the power of the Holy Spirit and seeks for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Every person who is born again of the Spirit is an integral part of the Church as a part of the body of believers. (John 17:11, 20-23; Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22, 5:25-32; Hebrews 12:23)
SALVATION: We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human effort. When we accept Christ’s sacrifice for our salvation we are born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. (John 3:3-18; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5)
BAPTISM: Following the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by Jesus in the Word of God to be baptized in water. We believe in baptism by immersion. (Matthew 28:19; Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11)
DIVINE HEALING: Divine Healing is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus, and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to follow believers. It is also a part of Jesus’ work on the cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit. We believe all healing is divine and that Divine Healing is for us today. (Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16)
THE LORD’S SUPPER: A time of communion when the elements of bread and the fruit of the vine represent the body and blood of Christ and are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. It is a memorial of His suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming. (II Peter 1:4; Matthew 26:26-29; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32)
ETERNITY: People were created to exist forever. Either to live eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation through Christ, or to exist eternally separated from God by sin. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. (John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15)
SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST: The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for a thousand years. (Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27,30; Revelation 1:7, 19:11-14, 20:1-6)
THE RESURRECTION: Those who have died in Christ and are translated together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the Church. (Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; Titus 2:13)
FINAL JUDGMENT: There will be a final judgment. Whosoever is not found with their name written in the Book of Life, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake, which is burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Matthew 9:43-48, 25:46; Revelation 19:20, 20:11-15, 21:8)
THE NEW HEAVEN & THE NEW EARTH: We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth where God’s righteousness dwells forever. (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21; Revelation 22)
Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
Our Core Values come from our vision and are the driving force of Faith and Wisdom Church.
They help answer the question, ”Why are we doing what we are doing?”
They also answer the questions, ”Who are we?” and ”What is most important to us?” Core Values affect decisions, goals, change, priorities, conflicts, and spending. They motivate people to meaningful ministry, touch the heart, and stir people to action.
These Core Values are leading us to a destination worth living and dying for.
CORE VALUE #1 – WIN THE LOST ETERNALLY
The greatest mission on earth is winning the lost to Christ. Matthew 28:18-20,” Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you… And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Faith and Wisdom Church is committed to the fulfillment of Jesus’ mandate to win the lost and make disciples of the nations. We desire all people to experience the saving power of the cross. By engaging the community and the world with God’s truth through acts of compassion and witness, the church must express an unwavering boldness to proclaim the gospel to a sick and dying world that is desperate for Jesus.
CORE VALUE #2 – LOVE CHILDREN AND YOUTH DILIGENTLY
It is our mission to reach and win children and young people with the Gospel of Christ. We will love and encourage every child and teenager with the agape love of Jesus while we teach and train each child and young person to live in faith, wisdom and live in righteousness.
CORE VALUE #3 – PREACH, PRAY, PRAISE AND WORSHIP ACTIVELY
Our worship services are designed to build up those who believe and to challenge those who doubt or seek, by the ministry of preaching the complete Word of God with no reserve or hesitation. Praying the prayer of faith in speaking the Word of God back to the Father. We maintain daily intimate fellowship with God by talking to him and listening to what he says to us. We believe in praying in the Spirit, beyond our own minds and understanding. (I Corinthians 14:1-2)
Celebrating the presence of God in our lives with praise should be an important part of every Christian’s life. To worship actively we must be willing to deal openly and honestly with God and to live lives of submission to Him. At Faith and Wisdom Church we seek to cultivate an active and intimate relationship with God through the person of Jesus Christ. We desire to be passionate about honoring and worshipping God with our daily lives.
CORE VALUE #4 – GROW PURPOSEFULLY
We believe that God desires people to become fully devoted followers and disciples of Jesus Christ. For that reason we are committed to teaching, training, and equipping people to spiritually reproduce themselves in others and to be involved in and committed to a meaningful ministry at Faith and Wisdom Church. Personal growth occurs from an expanding relationship with the Living God. Through the study of the Word we deepen our relationship with God and through prayer we bring his presence into our lives. We are committed to equipping people to make the growth journey from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity and to be able to influence their world for Christ.
CORE VALUE #5 – SERVE SACRIFICIALLY
Jesus was the perfect example of a sacrificial servant. Throughout his ministry here on earth He communicated to everyone around him that the practical expression of love is sacrificial service. We strongly believe that we can do the most for God by dispersing authority to motivated, talented individuals and groups in each area of service to encourage servant-leadership. At Faith and Wisdom Church we want to be Jesus to the world around us. We believe that the church exists to serve as the body of Christ and our desire is to engage our culture through that commitment to serve. We are committed to a ministry where we will seek ways to sacrificially serve each other, our community and our world.
CORE VALUE #6 – COMMUNICATE TRUTHFULLY
All people matter to God! It doesn’t matter where you’re from, what you look
like or the color of your skin, God cares for you and He loves you. So because
you are so important to God, you’re important to us and we want to share with everyone the great truth that God gave us through His Word and through His son, Jesus Christ. Faith and Wisdom Church is fully committed to communicating the Word of God to all people.
CORE VALUE #7 – LOVE PASSIONATELY
It’s all about relationships! The relationship we have with God and the relationships we have with each other are important. The Bible tells us that we should love God and also love each other. It’s not an option… we are commanded to do it! Jesus modeled this love to us through His life here on the earth and through His death on the cross. So one of our Core Values is to love God and each other passionately. Matthew 22:37 says: ”Jesus replied, Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” Faith and Wisdom Church is committed to loving people and building lives while creating authentic relationships.
